Neodesha Man Sentenced in Elder Abuse Case

A Neodesha man has sentenced to serve over two years in prison in an elder abuse case.

Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach says 49-year-old Travis Wayne Hann was sentenced to serve 27 months in prison for felony mistreatment of an elderly person. Hann pled guilty to the charge in August in Montgomery County District Court. In 2022, Hann befriended the victim and over a few months was able to gain access to the victim’s finances. During this time, he made several unauthorized financial transactions.

At sentencing, Judge Jeffrey Gossard denied Hann’s motion for probation. In addition to imposing a prison sentence, Gossard ordered Hann to pay $44,188 in restitution to the victim.
