One person is dead and another seriously injured following a rollover accident in Mitchell County.

The accident occurred around 11:20 yesterday morning on K-181 just south of Beloit. A passenger vehicle attempted to pass a semi truck in a no passing zone. As the car passed, the semi truck failed to maintain its lane and crossed the center line. The passenger car then left the roadway and when it reentered, collided with the semi. The semi truck then went into the ditch and rolled. The driver of the semi 52-year-old Ronald Dubbert of Hebron Nebraska was seriously injured and taken to the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit. 84-year-old Mary Dubbert of Tipton, Kansas, was a passenger in the semi and suffered fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the passenger vehicle 69-year-old Brian Christianson of Hunter, Kansas, was uninjured.
