There will be a Hogs For Humanity Community BBQ this Sunday at Riverside Park in Independence.

 

The group hopes to feed more than 300 community members. Organizer Ryan Gilchrist says he and his wife Adrienne Frazier and their friend Starrlight Wilson decided to organize the event as a way to give back to the community.

 

The menu will include pulled pork along with various sides, desserts, and drinks. Gilchrist says they are still accepting both monetary donations as well as supplies.

 

The meal will take place on Sunday at 1pm at the enclosed 4-H building and is free of charge.
