Rose Hill Woman Sentenced for Murder of Adopted Daughter

A Rose Hill woman is sentenced to 18 years in prison for her role in the death of her 6-year-old adopted daughter.

50-year-old Crystina Schroer was sentenced yesterday in a Butler County courtroom for the killing of Kennedy Schroer. The child was found buried in the backyard of the Schroer home in September 2024.

During her August trial, Butler County Attorney Darrin Devinney stated that Crystina double-bagged the girl's body in trash bags, dug a hole in her property and buried her in the back yard. Crystina was found guilty of second-degree murder, child abuse, making a false writing, and theft in the case.

Her husband 53-year-old Joseph Schroer entered a plea of no contest in October to two counts of aggravated endangering of a child in the case. He is set to be sentenced on December 3rd.
