MG County Discusses Road Project Near Bartlett Plant

Montgomery County is once again discussing a possible road project near the Bartlett plant.

The county applied for a Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development or BUILD grant through the federal Department of Transportation last year. The funding would have paid for a major road project on County Roads 4400 and 5300. However, the county learned over the summer that it did not receive the grant. County Public Works Director Brandon Beurskins says the follow-up is tom improve the application and try again.

County Administrator Jonathan Booe says the county requested more than $15 million last year.

The county has approved just over $49,000 in additional engineering fees to pay for a traffic study that would also identify the type of traffic on those county roads. The new grant application is due at the end of January.
