The City of Independence announces its leaf pick up schedule.
Pick up dates begin on November 17 and run through February 25th. The City has been divided into zones and pick up will occur based on the zone you live in. Those whop wish to have their leaves picked up should pile leaves at the curb, but not in the street. Piles should be within 5 feet of the curb to allow the leaf vacuum to reach them. Piles should be freeof bursh, rocks, and other debris that might damage City equipment. Contaminated piles will not be collected.

The City advises that pick up dates may change due to weather or equipment issues.
