Election workers in Montgomery County stayed up late last night tabulating ballots from across the County.
The unofficial machine votes were finished around midnight last night, and here are the results of some of the contested races:
The top candidates in the race for the three seats on the Coffeyville City Commission were Deborah Maples,Michael Golden and William John Kendall. For the Independence City Commission, Scott Smith was elected to the four-year term while Tim White was elected to the two-year term.
Two close races In Liberty saw Jay Lamons edge past Suzanne Lasco by a single vote for Mayor, while Tanya King, Debbora Long-Thomas, Virginia Hough, Becky Stapleton, and Linda Berryman were the top five vote getters for City Council.
For the Board of Trustees for Coffeyville Community College, David Baldwin, Becky Barnhart, and Dickie Rolls were selected. For the ICC Board of Trustees, Logan Null, Isaias McCaffery, and John Eubanks won seats. The top three candidates for USD 446 Independence Board of Education were Sam Blackard, Jeffrey Carnes, and Deborah Fox.
These results are unofficial and only reflect machine tallies from yesterday. The official results will be certified by Montgomery County Clerk Ami Standridge in the coming weeks.
