The city of Caney is one step closer to seeing shovels in the ground after approving the release of funding for the 14 mile pipeline project from their elevated water storage facility to the city of Coffeyville.
During last night's meeting, City Administrator Andrea Sibley reported to the council that authorization has been received to release the one million dollars of funds received in a CDBG grant earlier this year. Mayor Josh Elliott says every dollar in grant funding is vital in a project of this magnitude.
In other business, the council approved the purchase of 18 sets of dual purpose PPE to replace gear at the end of its life. Grant funding will pay for eleven of those sets, with the rest covered by ARPA funds. The council also cleared up discrepancies between housing ordinances and RV parks / short term living situations inside the city limits.
