The Kansas Department of Commerce announces a new program aimed at asissting entrepreneurs.
Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland announced the launch of ACCEL-KS, a new initiative to help Kansas innovators, entrepreneurs, and researchers compete nationally by leveraging federal research and development funding. The program has $250,000 in available funding, and offers up to $3,000 for proposal development with a 50% match and up to $25,000 for projects that secure federal awards. Eligible applicants must be Kansas-based for-profit small businesses conducting at least 51% of their research in-state.
Designed to strengthen Kansas’ innovation economy and national competitiveness, the program supports both proposal development and commercialization efforts to boost the number and success rate of federal research awards.
