Police in Oswego arrest a man suspected of stealing a car in Joplin.
Oswego Police Chief Jake Bond was on a routine patrol last Wednesday when he observed a man standing in a driveway near a parked car. Bond recognized the man as 25-year-old John Galloway, who was known to have multiple active warrants in neighboring counties.
Chief Bond made contact with the suspect and conducted a search of his person that revealed a glass smoking device, that was then destroyed by the suspect. The nearby vehicle was examined and found to have an expired tag belonging to a different vehicle. The VIN on the car was soon matched to a vehicle reported stolen in Joplin. Drug paraphernalia was also discovered in the car.
Galloway was taken to the Labette County Jail and faces charges including felony theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and destroying evidence.
