The search had ended for a missing Chanute man.

 

The Neosho County Sheriff’s Office received a report on Friday that 84-year-old Darrell Wiltse was missing. The man was last seen at his Chanute home early on Thursday morning. Chanute Police and Neosho County deputies canvassed the area around 200th Road and Irving, just east of Chanute after receiving reports that Wiltse’s cell phone had pinged nearby.

 

Wiltse’s family issued a statement on Friday afternoon, indicating that he had been found, but that he was no longer alive.

 

No other details have been released.
