Kansas tourism is a thriving industry.

 

That's the word from the Kansas Department of Commerce that oversees Kansas Tourism. Coffeyville Tourism Director Wyatt Starnes says tourism dollars are a driving economic force across the state.

 

Starnes says the communities in southeast Kansas are a large part of those numbers.

 

More than half a million visitors are expected when Kansas City hosts the World Cup this coming summer, with many of those visitors expected to explore activities in other parts of the state.
