Road work on Beech Street in Independence is expected to continue for the next few months due to a failed culvert.
Beech Street between Crescent and 13th has been closed and will remain so for safety reasons after the both ends of the culvert began to show evidence of failure. The culvert in question has been in place for sixty years. The City has ordered construction material to replace the culvert and work is expected to begin during the first week of December with an expected completion date, weather permitting, at the end of January.
