Montgomery County Invites Area Students to Take Part in Election Sticker Design Contest

 

The Montgomery County Clerk's Office is inviting local students to take part in a contest to design the county's official “I voted” sticker for the 2026 elections.

 

The contest is open to all students in Montgomery County and will feature separate catagories for elementary, middle, and high school students. All desigbns must be original work and should celebrate civic pride, voting, and community involvement while promonently featuring the phrase “I voted 2026.” Entries may be digital or hand-drawn. Submissions will be open November 1st through November 30th and should be submitted via e-mail, regular mail, or delivered in person to the Montgomery County Clerk's Office in Independence. Winners will be announced on December 16th.

 

DESIGN REQUIREMENTS

  1. Theme: Designs should celebrate civic pride, voting, and community involvement. Every sticker design must prominently feature the phrase:  “I Voted 2026”

  2. Artwork Format:

    • Size: Will be resized to fit a 3-inch circle.

    • Medium: May be hand-drawn or digital.

    • Digital entries: Submit as JPEG or PNG, 300 dpi minimum.

    • Hand-drawn entries: Must be scanned or photographed clearly in good lighting or turned into the Elections’ Office.

  3. Originality:

    • Must be the student’s own work.

    • No copyrighted or trademarked characters, images, or logos.

  4. Submission Method:

    • Digital entries: Email to mgcoelections@mgcountyks.org

    • Physical entries: Mail or Deliver to Election’s Office.

PRIZES

Winning design of each category will be used on official “I Voted” stickers distributed in the 2026 Montgomery County elections and receive a certificate, plus:

  • Elementary (Clerk’s Office Choice): 1st place: privately donated $50 gift card; 2nd place: privately donated $25 gift card.

  • Middle School (Poll Workers’ Choice): 1st place: privately donated $50 gift card; 2nd place: privately donated $25 gift card.

  • High School (Popularity Vote): 1st place: privately donated $50 gift card; 2nd place: privately donated $25 gift card.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. By entering, students grant the Montgomery County Clerk’s and Elections’ Office permission to reproduce, modify, and display their artwork for promotional or educational use.

  2. Inappropriate or plagiarized designs will be disqualified.

  3. Only one entry per student is allowed.

  4. Participation is voluntary and free of charge.

  5. Judging decisions are final.
