As it gets ready for another postseason run, USD 436 officials continue to seek information on Caney Memorial Stadium and its stability for continued use as a school facility.
Superintendent Blake Vargas says numbers concerning repairs have started coming in, but businesses are not wanting to tackle the stadium's biggest concern, which is core sampling of the structure itself.
Vargas says USD 436 continues to look at all aspects of the stadium, from the repair work to the stadium itself to the entire stadium grounds.
While the stadium itself is almost 100 years old, parts that have been added in the 80's are not in compliance with ADA standards.
Vargas says finding the structural integrity and estimated life left in the stadium is high priority for board members and school district officials, before a decision is made concerning a remodel, renovation or construction of a new stadium.
