U.S. Representative Derek Schmidt is weighing in on President Trump's recent remarks on importing more beef from other countries.
Schmidt recently signed a letter with other lawmakers against importing more Argentinean beef in an attempt to lower prices for consumers. While nothing has been decided on the federal level, the Trump administration continues to weigh options with Argentina and now Mexico on increasing imports despite pushback from domestic producers. While prices have been high, Schmidt says he thinks the markets will eventually work themselves out.
Schmidt says there are a number of factors that led to this situation.
Schmidt spoke during his monthly interview on KGGF, which airs live every 4th Friday at 7:40. The full interview is available HERE.
