Controversy Continues in Sedan City Council Campaign

Tempers continue to flare as accusations fly in Sedan.

At this week's Sedan City Council meeting, a Sedan citizen spoke during the public comment period about recent accusations against council member Janice Fine. Some in the community have accused Fine of interfering in a 2023 traffic stop that involved her grandson. Fine has stated that her only involvement in the stop was to support her grandson. However, the citizen says Fine should resign her seat.

Fine is currently running for re-election to the Sedan City Council. One of her opponents in the election is Wellington Butler, who was also at this week's meeting. Butler says he thinks the council woman's behavior sets a bad example.

Both Fine and Butler will appear on the November 4th general election ballot along with candidates Adam Clark, Jonathan Martin, Denise Hugenot, Crystal Wade, and Leroy Moreland for the 3 seat on the Sedan City Council.

Full interviews with both Janice Fine and Wellington Butler can be heard on the KGGF website.
