An Independence man earns a state award for his work in environmental health.

County Director of Environmental Health and Zoning Matt Debo has been named the 2025 Sanitarian of the Year by the Kansas Environmental Health Association. The prestigious award recognizes individuals who make a positive impact within their organization and the KEHA community. Debo was also recently appointed as Vice-President of the KEHA Board.
