Columbus City Hall Closed Due to Data Loss Incident

The Columbus City Hall will be closed for the rest of the week due to what city officials call a significant data loss incident.

Officials have not stated the specific cause of the incident but emphasized that the loss was not due to hacking or foul play and that no customer information was compromised. The city is asking that residents not provide payment on any utility bills until the issue can be resolved and city computer systems are returned to full functionality.

Other city operations such as public works, garbage collection, police, fire, and code enforcement activities will continue as normal.

City offices are scheduled to reopen on Monday, but officials say future closures may be necessary based on the volume of work required to restore the computer systems.
