A retired Coffeyville Police Department K9 passes away.

In a post on Facebook, CPD says it is with great sadness that they announce the passing of retired Police Service Dog Rommel. He was a 13-year-old dual-purpose Belgian Malinois, who served CPD alongside his handler and partner, Captain Darin Daily, for ten years.

Throughout his career, Rommel demonstrated dedication, loyalty, and courage in protecting the community and supporting his fellow officers in countless ways. After a decade of service, he retired in December 2023. CPD says Rommel will be deeply missed by his family, Captain Daily, and all who had the privilege of working beside him. His impact and legacy will not be forgotten.
