A suspect is in custody following a foot chase and an officer-involved shooting in Leflore County, Oklahoma.

The incident occurred just before 1pm on Saturday at the suspect’s home near Bokoshe or about 15 miles south of Sallisaw. Deputies from the Leflore County Sheriff’s Office along with an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper attempted to serve an arrest warrant on 34-year-old Dustin  Ray Tackett. When police arrived on the scene, Tackett fled. During the foot chase, officers say Tackett pulled a gun and began firing. Police returned fire, striking the suspect. Tackett was taken to a nearby hospital and his condition remains unknown.

No officers were injured in the incident.
