An upgrade to the playground equipment at Pfister Park is coming.
The City of Coffeyville received a GameTime Playground grant and the City Commission approved their own matching funds to purchase the new equipment. Director of Public Works Jim Wright says this is to replace some of the playground equipment that is damaged and fallen into disrepair.
The total cost of the project is just under $140,000, with just under $70,000 coming out of the parks fund. City Manager Ben Brubaker says this is outside of their parks plan but it was approved by the Parks Board.
