A former Coffeyville attorney and district judge passes away.
Roger Gossard passed away last Friday at the age of 80. He was a 1962 graduate of Field Kindley High School and attended one year at Coffeyville Community College. Gossard transferred to the University of Oklahoma, where he joined the Sigma Chi fraternity and received his Bachelor of Arts degree. He went on to receive a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
Gossard served as a judge for the Fourteenth Judicial District in Kansas from 2003 to 2015 and was appointed as the chief judge in 2009. After serving as a judge, Gossard returned to practice law part-time until his full retirement in December 2024. Services will be on Saturday, October 25th at 10:00am at the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville.
