Assemblies and concerts will sound a whole lot better soon after a donation from the Caney Alumni Association to USD-436.

 

 Caney Alums presented a check for over $5,400 to the board during last night's meeting for the sound system for the auditorium.

 

 Superintendent Blake Vargas says the donation was unexpected.

 

 Vargas says replacing the sound system has been on the to-do list for several years, and he is happy to see the project checked off the list. The board added the donation to the agenda and accepted the donation in a unanimous vote.

 

 Other items of business included discussion of a substitute handbook and continued discussion on the historic stadium.

 

 We'll hear from Superintendent Vargas later this week concerning the 1939 stadium on our KGGF family of stations.
