A McCune man is set to be sentenced in the shooting death of his grandson.
70-year-old John Fox entered a guilty plea to voluntary manslaughter in September for the 2023 shooting death of Ian Fox. The 28-year-old Fox was found unresponsive in a McCune home on August 7, 2023, after a 9-1-1 caller told dispatchers that the victim had been shot by their grandfather. John Fox was originally charged with second-degree murder in the case, but prosecutors reduced the charge to voluntary manslaughter in return for a guilty plea.
Fox will face sentencing on November 17 in Crawford County.
