A program to incentivize people to move to small cities and rural areas is showing positive impacts for Neodesha.

Neodesha began taking part in the Make My Move program last winter. The nation-wide program offers financial incentives to workers to move to the city and work remotely. Incentives offered by the city to potential applicants include a 100% Kansas State Income Tax Waiver for the 2026 tax year, student loan repayment assistance, and a neighborhood revitalization plan for property improvements. Mayor Devin Johnson says he has seen some new faces in town thanks to the program.
