A Galena woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash near Carl Junction, Missouri.

The accident occurred around 6:45 yesterday morning on Fir Road. A 79-year-old Galena woman was driving a 2008 Honda Fit when she collided with the rear of a Ford F-250. The woman and a 13-year-old male passenger in her car were both taken to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. The boy suffered moderate injuries while the woman died at the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.

The Missouri Highway Patrol has not realesed the names of the victims.
