The administrator of the Nowata County Jail receives a state award for excellence.

Administrator of the Nowata County Jail Debora Santoni has been named the Jail Administrator of the Year by the Oklahoma Sheriff's Association.

The award recognizes an individual for outstanding performance and service in jail administration. Santoni receive ed her award at the Oklahoma Sheriff's Association banquet. According to the Nowata County Sheriff's Office, the Oklahoma Department of Health found no deficiencies in their annual inspections of the Nowata County Jail in 2024 and 2025.
