A fatal crash yesterday morning in Sumner County causes road closures for a brief period of time.

According to reports from the Kansas Highway Patrol, two people were killed in the crash that occurred just before 10am yesterday at the intersection of US-160 and Hillside Road or about 5 miles east of the City of Wellington. The accident occurred as one vehicle was eastbound on US-160 when it went left-of-center and struck the other vehicle head-on. Both vehicles came to rest in the ditch where they both caught fire.

K-H-P has not yet released the names of the victims in the crash.
