Members of the Independence Fire Department takes their fire safety lessons to Eisenhower Elementary to mark Fire Prevention Week.

Kindergartners learned important fire safety lessons such as Stop, Drop, and Roll, not to play with matches and lighters, and what to do in case of a fire at home. Independence Fire and EMS will be traveling to local schools all this week to speak with students about fire safety. Parents are encouraged to discuss with their children what they learned and to go over home fire escape plans together.

Independence Fire and EMS reminds all citizens to brush up on fire safety because the best emergency is one that never happens.
