An Arkansas is sentenced to ten and a half years in prison in the shooting death of another man outside a Pittsburg bar in 2023.
35-year-old Jemon Allen of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, was sentenced this week in a Crawford County courtroom for the August 20, 2023, shooting death of 36-year-old Justin Krogen of Pittsburg. The shooting occurred after an altercation between the two men outside of Jimmy B's bar in Pittsburg.
Allen was originally charged with first-degree murder in the case, but accepted a plea deal in May that would have him plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter, aggravated battery, and aggravated assault. Allen will also pay $7,500 in restitution and be required to register as a violent offender upon his release.
The case was investigated by the Pittsburg Police Department, The Crawford County Sheriff's Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
