Governor Laura Kelly will make a stop in southeast Kansas in November on her recently announced statewide listening tour.
Kelly calls the tour The People's Budget, and will kick off the tour at the first of eight stops on Thursday in Salina. The Governor says the purpose of the tour is to speak directly with Kansans to gather their priorities for the state budget before the start of the 2026 legislative session.
Kelly has called the 2025 state budget reckless and claims it will have the state spending between $300 and $700 million more than it takes in for the foreseeable future. She has stated that she wants to hear citizen feedback on the Legislature's budget while giving Kansans a say in where their hard-earned tax dollars are going.
Kelly's stop in southeast Kansas will occur on November 10th at the Frisco Event Center in Pittsburg. To register for this or another stop on the tour, follow this link.
