The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services or KDADs announces federal approval for the new state plan on aging.
KDADS announced yesterday that the U.S. Administration for Community Living has approved the state’s four-year Plan on Aging, effective from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2029. The plan was developed under the Older Americans Act and outlines strategic goals to improve access to community-based services, support family caregivers, and uphold the independence and dignity of older Kansans. With a focus on equity, elder rights, and coordinated statewide efforts, KDADS will partner with local agencies to implement initiatives that include nutrition services, caregiver support, and protections against elder abuse and neglect.
