The Parsons Police Department concludes its initial investigation into a weekend shooting.
At around 1:15am yesterday, PPD officers were dispatched to the Stepping Stone Gardens Apartments, located near 26th Street and Grand Avenue, in reference to a report of shots fired. Officers collected evidence and interviewed witnesses. During the investigation, officers identified the suspect as Clyde 17-year-old Douglas McGlory IV, of Topeka, formerly of Parsons.
Investigators determined that the incident began over a dispute over a vehicle, which escalated into a personal confrontation involving a relationship issue. McGlory IV allegedly took out a gun and fired several shots toward the victims and a vehicle before fleeing the area. He was located during a traffic stop early this morning, near Highway 400 and Brown Road in Labette County. McGlory IV was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Girard Juvenile Detention Center.
