Another successful Dalton Defenders Day is in the books.
Crowds of residents and visitors gathered in downtown Coffeyville on Saturday to enjoy the pleasnat weather and browse the selections at nedors and food trucks. The highlight of the event was the historic reenactments of the Dalton raid on Coffeyville. KGGF's James Copeland was on hand to describe the action.
The annual Dalton Defenders Day commemorates the three Coffeyville citizens - George Cubine, Charles Brown and Lucius Baldwin - who lost their lives on October 5, 1892, when the gang of outlaws attempted to rob the Condon National and the First National Banks at the same time.
