Authorities in Harvey County are investigating after human remains are found in a hay field located southeast of Newton.

Emergency crews were called to the location in rural Harvey County around noon yesterday after a farmer made the discovery. The investigation is in the early stages and efforts are being made to learn the identity and manner of death of the individual.

The scene remains under investigation by the Harvey County Sheriff's Office.
