The City of Howard and the Greenwood County Hospital will host a Secure and Aware Medicare seminar on Monday evening.
The purpose of the seminar is to give older citizens information about common Medicare scams and how to avoid them. Medicare loses an estimated $60 billion each year due to fraud, errors, and abuse. The best way to fight fraud is to prevent it before it happens. Monday's seminar will help attendees learn to spot scams as well as helping them determine if traditional Medicare or Medicare Advantage if the right program for their needs.
Monday's seminar begins at 5:30 in the Cox Building in Howard. A meal will be served. In order to reserve a meal, registration must be made by 5pm on October 1. To register, call 620-583-7451. There is no cost for the event.
