The Wilson County Rural Fire Department responds to two separate fires on back to back days.

At around 7:00am this morning, the Fredonia Fire Department was called for a structure fire at Dollar General. A Wilson County Rural fire unit was passing by the Dollar General at around the same time the fire had been reported. The unit stopped and found a refrigerator on fire. The fire was contained to the refrigerator but there was heavy smoke throughout the building. The Fredonia Fire Department arrived on the scene and supplied ventilation to the building.

At around 7:30pm yesterday evening, units were called for a vehicle fire along Highway 39 resulting from a vehicle roll over. The vehicle was a total loss and the drive was injured in the accident. According to witnesses at the scene, the fire department kept the fire from spreading too much from the vehicle.
