Oklahoma State School Superintendent Ryan Walters announces his resignation.
Walters announced yesterday afternoon that he is stepping down from his role as the leader of the Oklahoma State Department of Education. He leaves to take a private sector position as the CEO of the Teacher Freedom Alliance. The TFA is a non-profit organization whose stated purpose is to serve as a non-union alternative for teachers.
Walters has served as State Superintendent since being elected to the position in 2022. His replacement will be appointed by Governor Kevin Stitt.
