The Mongtomery County Commission approves the 2026 budget for the Rural Fire Department.
At this week's meeting, County Administrator Jonathan Booe reported that the budget numbers commissioners were asked to approve would be slightly different than the actual budget. Booe says the commission will need to amend the budget in January.
The Rural Fire Department will be able to remain funded until 2026 due to carry-over funds from this year. Booe says the amendment will increase expenditures for the department but will actually lower taxes.
Commissioners unanimously approved the rural Fire budget.
