Nowata County commissioners approve an application for a REAP grant.

 

The Rural Energy for America Program from the USDA provides guaranteed loan financing and grant funding for renewable energy systems or to make energy efficiency improvements. Nowata Conty Sheriff Jason McClain says the $14,000 in grant funding would be used to pay for a study the Sheriff's Office.

 

In other business, Commissioner Paul Crupper says there has been good progress on the radio tower project in New Alluwe.

 

Maintenance on a radio tower in Wann will resume this week. The radio tower project will allow first responders in the field to communicate more effectively across the county.
