***** Update: Dense fog advisory extended through 10 a.m. *****

 

Dense fog is impacting southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma this morning.

 

The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory now through 9 a.m. for most of southeast Kansas, including Montgomery County. The advisory also includes counties in Oklahoma along the Kansas state line. Visibility down to a quarter mile or less in spots will cause travel impacts through the morning commute.

 

In addition, some severe weather is possible late overnight through tomorrow morning. The greatest storm chances will be in south-central Kansas and north-central Oklahoma, but the four-state area does have a marginal chance of severe weather development, including 65 mph winds, half-dollar-size hail and heavy rainfall.
