The City of Altamont will hold a special meeting on Thursday night to discuss options for improvements to the Sewer Collection System.
The Altamont City Council has been discussing options for the repairs for some time, with plans to replace the south and east lift stations in the city. The council has approved an increase in sewer rates for residential customers to help fund the repairs and are also considering an $8 million loan through the Kansas Water Pollution Control Revolving Fund. This special meeting will give residents the opportunity to ask questions, voice concerns, and gather more information about the project.
Thursday’s meeting is set to begin at 7pm. Altamont residents are encouraged to attend.
