The Parsons City Commission approves the 2026 budget.
The Commission met on Wednesday night this week after they failed to achieve a quorum at Monday's regularly scheduled meeting. No public comments were made during the public hearing on the budget during the meeting. Mayor Verlyn Boulanger says the city's finances for the upcoming year are sound.
In other business, commissioners voted to move forward with the condemnation process on several structures in the city deemed dangerous and unsafe. Commissioners also approved street closures for a P-K event scheduled for October 4. Approval was also given to trade in one of the city's garbage trucks for a newer model.
