One person is seriously injured after being entrapped in a grain cart yesterday in Anderson County.

The incident happened around 11:30 yesterday morning when Anderson County emergency crews were called to a location in a rural part of the county, just west of the City of Garnett. The victim was found in the grain cart and was bleeding profusely. EMS personnel applied a tourniquet in an attempt to control the bleeding until the patient could be freed.

The individual was taken by ambulance to the Anderson County Hospital and later airlifted to a Level 1 Trauma Center in Kansas City to receive a higher level of care.
