Coffeyville is one of 12 Kansas towns to receive grant funding for a public art project.
Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland announced on Wednesday that Genesis of Coffeyville has been awarded $6,808 from the Rural Mural grant program for a public art project symbolizing growth, renewal, and community transformation. Genesis is a food pantry that serves Coffeyville, Liberty, and Dearing and is located at 1312 West 8th Street.
The funds are part of $75,000 shared by the other 11 cities and organizations. The Rural Mural grant program, offered through the Kansas Department of Commerce, helps communities celebrate their hometown pride and use local creativity to boost economic growth across Kansas.
