Wilson County Receives Good News on Measles

The measles outbreak in the state of Kansas has been resolved.

That's the latest from the Wilson County Commission meeting, in which Health Department Director Amy Lell gave an update regarding the state's measles outlook. There have been no new cases in any previously affected county over the past 42 days, leading to the resolved classification.

Additional items of business at this week's meeting was the discussion of a vacant position for the county on the Advisory Board for the Area Agency on Aging. The commissioners also approved a Community Christmas Tree decorating contest to be held in the courthouse, which will be organized by the Chamber Board.

The Wilson County Commission will have a brief meeting on September 24th at 9 a.m. in Room 101 of the County Courthouse in Fredonia.
