Attendance at this year's Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson is lower than in previous years.
This year's attendance at the annual event was just over 300,000 people. That number is 28,000 fewer than last year though fair officials say parking issues caused by heavy rains last week may have contributed to the downturn.
The highest attendance in recent years occurred in 2023 when 330,000 visitors attended the Fair. There was no State Fair in 2020 due to COVID, but attendance numbers spiked by nearly 25,000 per year following the pandemic .
Next year's Kansas Sate Fair runs from September 11th through 20th.
