A 70-year-old Spivey, Kansas, woman is under arrest following the death of her 94-year-old mother.

Linda Oeding was arrested late last week after her mother Betty died in hospice care on September 10. The Kingman County Sheriff’s Office says the older woman showed signs of malnourishment and neglect. Linda Oeding was booked into the Kingman County Jail on charges of first-degree murder, mistreatment of an elderly person, abuse and neglect, and interfering with medical care. Formal charges are pending in the case.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has been called in to assist.
