A number of concerned Wilson County citizens attend the budget hearing for 2026 Fiscal Year.

 

The main item of concern revolved around the mill levy increasing by over 40% on the forms that were sent out prior to the official hearing. County Clerk Kayla Busch says that number is a mistake.

 

The budget was approved as presented following the clarification surrounding the mill levy. Busch says the county is taking steps to ensure it won't happen again.

 

Additional items of business at this week's meeting was the approval of the pilot project for Sunflower Skies, which is scheduled to begin construction at the end of October.
